The mission of Greenbelt Elementary School is to create a safe and orderly environment in which children may develop their avenue to the process of learning and view education as an enjoyable, valuable, and necessary lifelong endeavor.

The faculty is committed to assessing and addressing the intellectual, emotional, and social needs of our students and assisting them in making positive choices that will allow them to realize their potential and become productive members in our complex society.

The faculty and staff collaborates to create inclusive practices that will address the individual academic, social and emotional needs of all students. We are committed to utilizing transdisciplinary approaches, focusing on developing essential skills in all curricular areas. This includes the traditional academic focus on language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, written language skill development, and the humanities, including art and music enrichment. Physical education is certainly an important component of our developmental approach to education. We are particularly committed to offering our students challenging opportunities in technological education, relevant to the demands of being an able contributor to the workplace of the 21st Century.

Toward this goal, the faculty is committed to teaching our students both the skills and sensibilities for living in a world of change and unknowns. To understand and avail oneself to the need for continuing education is a goal for the entire school community. We expect that all community members will support diversity and equity in our educational endeavors, from which we will all benefit.

"Our mission is to receive an excellent education in a safe environment and to achieve academic excellence. Each day we will work toward becoming a responsible citizen and a lifelong learner. In addition, we will show empathy and great respect toward all people. We wrote it, we said it, and now we will live it!"
