Mission :
The mission of Grove Hill Elementary School is to generate life-long learners who are resourceful, responsible and respectable citizens; educate all children to their greatest individual potential; and stimulate higher order thinking skills by using a meaningful and quality curriculum to meet the needs of the “whole child.”

About the School:

Grove Hill Elementary School (GHES), established in 1976 and accredited since 1989, is a rural school in Grove Hill, Alabama. Grove Hill Elementary School is located approximately one-half mile from the business district of Grove Hill (Highway 43) and approximately one-fourth mile from the recently constructed Highway 43 By-pass. Grove Hill Elementary School's facility includes the original building, known as Building A, the 1993-94 addition, Building B, and the 1999-2000 addition, Building C. An outdoor instructional area and nature trail complete the physical makeup of our school's facility. Technologically, all classrooms have computers, access to the internet, E-mail, and phones.

Grove Hill Elementary School's students attend school for 185 days and receive a daily minimum of 360 minutes of instruction based on state-adopted curriculum. Music, guidance, and physical education are built into the schedule to allow for teacher planning. Friday's extended P. E. schedule (45 minutes instead of 30) allows time for grade level meetings during the school day.
