It is the mission of the officials and staff of the Hastings Charter Township to provide quality municipal services that will help to maintain and improve the overall manner in which our citizens live, work, and play.

Hastings Charter Township lies near the center of Barry County and surrounds the city of Hastings on three sides. Back in 1842 the entire northeast quadrant of the county was designated Hastings Township. It was subsequently divided into the present day townships of Hastings, Carlton, Woodland and Castleton. In 1985 the township became chartered.
