843-757-6293

The Heyward House Historic Center, located at 70 Boundary Street, is in the heart of Bluffton's Nationally Registered Historic District. It's the perfect place to begin your visit to Bluffton.

Operated by the Bluffton Historical Preservation Society, a tour of the Heyward House (c.1841) provides visitors a glimpse into the past.  Guided tours of the house and grounds are offered daily for a nominal fee. Guided walking tours of Old Town Bluffton are also available by appointment on Monday - Friday. One of only eight antebellum homes to survive the Civil War, this well-preserved house museum is the only historic home in Bluffton that is open to the public for tours.

Designated in 2000 as the official Welcome Center for the town of Bluffton, make the Heyward House your first stop when visiting historic Bluffton.  Here you can pick up free maps and information on all things Bluffton, including local menus, coupons, event tickets, and much more. Stop by the Heyward House for a visit when you're in town, and see what the Bluffton State of Mind is all about!
