The mission of High Hopes is to foster a community where horse and human interactions improve lives.

High Hopes serves broad cross section of the community with ages ranging from age 4 to 75, who deal with physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioral challenges. High Hopes is assisted in the fulfillment of its mission by the talent and hard work of over 500 volunteers. High Hopes operates programs 6 days a week, year round, with both indoor and outdoor riding facilities as well as an extensive sensory trail. Since 1979, High Hopes has been accredited by Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International (PATH), the national organization that sets the standards for the therapeutic riding profession, and we have maintained Premier Accreditation status since it was first instituted by PATH in 1992.

The High Hopes experience combines the healing power of the human-animal bond with targeted and attainable goals. These goals include improvement of participants’ balance, mobility, coordination, circulation and physical strength. Just as importantly, individualized programs are carefully designed to teach life skills, build self confidence and encourage independence. In addition to these benefit, High Hopes programs offer participants opportunities for recreation and success that are rarely available to them. Participants achieve things they thought were completely beyond their reach and these accomplishments have a major impact not only on their lives but also on families, teachers and communities.
