Mission Statement:

The mission of Hiram  College  is to foster intellectual excellence and social responsibility, enabling our students to thrive in their chosen careers, flourish in life, and face the urgent challenges of the times.

About Us:

Founded in 1850, Hiram College cherishes its heritage as an institution of academic excellence and rare distinction. Hiram's 1,200 students come from 26 states and 23 countries and represent more than 25 different religions. Between 50 and 60 percent of the College's graduates go on to graduate school or professional school within five years of earning their degrees. The College was awarded a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's premier undergraduate honor society, in 1971.

95 percent of Hiram students live in the College's residence halls and eat their meals on campus. Newer College buildings are designed to complement Hiram's nineteenth century, distinguished Western Reserve architecture. Student services include a health center, a fitness center, a sports medicine clinic, a career placement office, professional counseling on a range of personal and academic concerns, optional religious services and activities, and sports for everyone. More than 70 student organizations are active on campus, including honorary societies, social clubs, music and drama groups, student publications, religious groups, and student government and political and social-action groups. All student organizations, including the campus radio station and student publications, are managed and directed by Hiram College students.
