Hoen's Garden Center and Landscaping

Hoen's Garden Center and Landscaping
1710 Perrysburg-Holland Road

History:

In the early 50's, brothers Bill & Leo Hoen bought 100 acres of land along Airport Hwy in Holland, Oh. For years they farmed mostly vegetables and fruits to sell for wholesale. It wasn't until 1980, when Bob Hoen started working alongside his dad Leo, that they started growing flowers in flats to sell. Hoen's began as a wholesale supplier, but in 1983 another acre of greenhouses was built creating a retail store.

Bob & his wife Theresa own and operate the 20 acre farm and Garden Center. They have 7 children together, many of which are involved in the family business: Ryan, Justin & his wife Heather, Jacob & his wife Rebekah, Stephanie & her husband Brandon, Ian, Caleb & his girlfriend Kelsey, and the late Elizabeth Ann. They are also very proud to be "Nana" and "Papa" to their 8 grandkids: Mikayla, Landon, Wesley, Emery, Maddox, Leland, Jackson, Caroline and Roman.

Hoen's Garden Center operates under 2.5 acres of interior growing space. They still sell quality, homegrown produce, with seasonal strawberry and pumpkin picking for the public. Continuing their reputation for superior quality, Hoen's grows the best Annuals, Perennials, Shrubs, Rose Bushes, Herbs, Vegetable Plants and more! They pride themselves on their enormous variety of Hanging Baskets, Potted Flowers, and specialize in Custom Potted Containers.

A landscape division began in 2007 as a "We Design, You Dig" service only. With greater customer demand, Hoen's realized the need to expand and provide full landscape services to their customers.

Hoen's is continually expanding their Retail Store, now offering the largest selection of Miniature & Fairy Garden plants and accessories in the area, also adding a Succulent and Terrarium Department. They provide Free Seminars and Hands-On Workshops throughout the year and offer group tours for schools and other organizations fulfilling their mission statement and desire "To foster knowledge and ignite passion in gardeners of ALL ages."
