Our Mission

We are God's people at work in and through our parish.

We Are God's People: The church is a family of people, and the focus of our mission and ministry must always be more sensitive to the needs of people than it is to the maintenance of an institution. By people, we mean all ages, backgrounds, and cultures that are woven into the fabric of our church family. Since the church is people it is not perfect, yet it is, by God's grace redeemed. We live by God's mercy. We claim His power to do His will.

At Work: Christ sends us to do the same work for which He Himself was sent, namely, to bring people back into a harmonious and active relationship with God and each other. We are empowered for the task with the presence of Christ, the means of grace in Word and Sacraments, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We are also given the people to accomplish the work, for that work belongs not just to the clergy, but to all God's people.

In And Through Our Parish: As a congregational family, God calls us to a specific responsibility; to serve the people of our church, as well as the people of our community and the world. As individual Christians, all of life is our parish, and our service is shown in a total lifestyle which reflects Jesus Christ in every activity and to every person we meet.
