Hudson High School, home of the Explorers!  Why the Explorers? Two notable explorers played important roles in our city's history. Hudson's origin stems from a settlement of the Connecticut Land Company; hence, it's New England charm! Around 1800, David Hudson led surveyors through Eastern forests to explorer the territory of what was to become Hudson Township. Later in history, in the 1930's, Lincoln Ellsworth made important contributions to aviation as he led expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic. Ellsworth, the namesake of Ellsworth Elementary on the corner of Stow and Middleton, is buried in Hudson; he grew up here and he attended Western Reserve Academy. Each year we say goodbye to approximately 400 well-prepared graduates who are eager to explore their respective paths as leaders, scholars, and productive citizens.
