Mission:
"There are moments in our lives, there are moments in a day, when we seem to go beyond the usual. Such are the moments of our greatest happiness. Such are the moments of our greatest wisdom. If one could but recall his vision by some sort of sign. It was in this hope that the arts were invented. Sign-posts on the way to what may be. Sign posts towards greater knowledge. "

Robert Henri, great artist and founder of the American School of Art and Design where Joe Mack attended school and adopted the philosophies of Robert Henri.

Having the ability to visualize is a power. Having the courage to create is a freedom. All youth must have the freedom to be heard creatively. What they have to say is important. We listen. The world must listen. Our youth is our future...

Gaining the knowledge, technical skills, conceptual insights and abilities to draw the human figure is a power. Once you can draw the human figure you can draw anything.

The one-on-one communication between student and teacher allows the students to progress from their own point of development. Whether technical and/or conceptual help is needed, we structure our teaching to fit individual requirements.

Our aim is to help students express their own unique personality and gain confidence within themselves. They learn to conquer their challenges and trust their abilities until the journey from where they are and where they want to be ceases to be difficult.

The ability to " see" is the ultimate goal in an artist's life. We at HFA are committed to helping our students experience their vision and the ability to express it.
