What is Joplin Pride?

Joplin Pride is a non-profit organization that raises funds to put together Joplin Pridefest. Joplin Pride strives to be a community resource by promoting diversity, and serve as a gathering place for the local drag community and its allies through such activities and programs as shows, performances, balls, charitable fundraisers, PRIDE events, and other social events.

What is Pridefest?

Pridefest is an annual event hosted by Joplin Pride to celebrate diversity. It is a festival where members of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) community gather together and enjoy each others company and partake in activities such as drag entertainment, educational talks, and retail entertainment from local vendors in the local community. Pridefest is a family friendly event open to every member of the community so they may enjoy the activites as well as their children in a diverse and tolerant atmosphere.

How can I get Involved?

Joplin Pride is organized by the Joplin Pride Board and Volunteers of Joplin Pride.  Volunteers are ALWAYS needed and are the backbone of Joplin Pride and the community as a whole.  Joplin Pride welcomes any member of the community to volunteer and will gladly make use of their various gifts, talents, and abilities.
