The Kansas City Wind Symphony was created in 1998 as a community outreach of the Music Department of the Village Church, the nation's second-largest Presbyterian (PCUSA) congregation.  Members of the Wind Symphony include some of the heartland region's finest professional and accomplished amateur musicians.  In April of 2009, The Kansas City Wind Symphony made their debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City as a part of the "Ensemble Spotlight Series" of MidAmerica Productions.
