Keo United Methodist Church

294 Highway 232
501-285-0303

The Keo Methodist Church was organized in 1909, Rev. W. M. Jones was pastor. The building was erected that year, but was "blown down" in 1918 and rebuilt that year. That is the present worship space of today. There was a parsonage built in 1916, in Keo, which served as the home for the pastor of Keo, Tomberlin, Humnoke, and Lasater churches. That house no longer exists. Over the years, the Keo Methodist Church has been part of a two or more church arrangement with one pastor serving all the churches. Most recently, up until 1998, Keo and England Methodist Churches were together. At that time Keo became a 'charge' all of its own.

A Fellowship Hall and kitchen was added later but it became damaged and collapsed. The present kitchen and Fellowship Hall were finished in 1994. In 1998, the Education Wing was started and just completed at year's end. In 2002, the house next to the church was purchased to allow for possible parking and/or building expansion when needed. A total of 62 pastors have served the church since 1909, including our present pastor, the first one to serve just the Keo United Methodist Church in over 60 years.
