History:
Lion's are people who are dedicated to give back to their communities, finding people in need, and who meet those needs in an efficient and caring manner. People who believe that by working together with other Lions, they will accomplish far more for their communities than would be possible by doing it alone. Committed to solve major worldwide health and social problems, and realizing that solutions are possible when every Lions Club does its share. Patriotic, giving allegiance to their country, while recognizing that all people must learn to live in peace. Serious about their commitment to humanitarian service: but we don't mind having a little fun along the way. The International Association of Lions Clubs is a group of over 45,000 clubs with 1.4 million members, which make Lion's the largest service organization in the world. The Lakewood Knights Lions Club is a small part of this large organization. We have completed 25 years of service to the Lakewood community. In that time we have contributed more than $140,000 to people in our community who are less fortunate that ourselves. We have an outstanding club with 70% participation on projects and service to Lakewood. We are known as the "Happy Club". We like to have fun along with dedication to service.
