As our business card says, we grow "naturally grown stuff" and have been since 1989. We grow organically and became certified organic in the mid-1990's. We abandoned the use of the word organic when the USDA begin oversight of organic certification in 2003. The cost, in both time and money, was too great for a small farm such as ours to absorb. Yearly fees of around $700 and weekly record-keeping of 6-8 hours to satisfy organic certification requirements. We have been more than happy having what we do judged by our customers we see face to face every week at various farmer's markets. We grow vegetables, have laying hens and broilers on pasture, and raise a small batch of 30-40 turkeys on pasture for Thanksgiving.
