About Us:

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan, multi-issue organization that works on three levels: national, state and local. As women's suffrage was written into the constitution in 1920, the League of Women Voters was formed from the National American Woman Suffrage Association. League membership is open to both women and men.

The current League of Women Voters of Columbus, Georgia was first formed as a provisional league on March 17, 1971 and was recognized as a full-fledged league on on March 29, 1973.

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issuesand influences public policy through education and advocacy.
