League of Women Voters of Scarsdale

About Us:

Who We Are:
- We are a nonpartisan political organization. We believe in activism at all levels of government: local, county, state and national. Since 1920 the League has worked to educate citizens and influence public policy. We are women, and men, who come together to study problems, identify goals and advocate solutions.

- We are your neighbors. The Scarsdale League has over 300 members; it is one of the largest leagues in the country and the second largest league in New York State.

What We Do:

- We educate citizens to become informed voters. We hold candidates forums, publish voter guides and conduct public meetings on current issues. The League encourages all citizens to be informed and speak out.

- We speak out. We study issues and form opinions. We take action on the important matters of the day: education, campaign finance, ethics in government, women's rights, tax reform, housing, etc. Our positions are based on membership consensus after study. Our studies are purposeful: we articulate positions and actively advocate for their acceptance.
