The name "Foursquare" is unique when compared to those names usually given to churches. That's because it was born out of an unusual move of God during the first quarter of the twentieth century. Those years were significant in human history because of revolutionary changes in the world, as they also marked a spiritual revolution in the hearts of men and women.

Founded by Aimee Semple McPherson in the 1920's, the Foursquare denomination has steadily grown in membership, and over the last three decades has experienced exponential growth throughout the world. Today, Foursquare continues to have a powerful influence on the church in America and abroad as leaders like Jack Hayford, Ron Mehl and Wayne Cordeiro blaze new trails, while maintaining the integrity and simplicity of the gospel message.

The Foursquare Gospel is represented by four distinct portraits of Christ as exhibited in the Scriptures. These portraits give a wonderful overview of the ministry of Jesus.
