The nature and variety of Parks and Recreational Facilities enhance a community's identity and sense of pride. The City of Lonsdale has an abundance of these recreational opportunities for its residents and visitors!

The Parks and Recreation Department maintains a total of 7 community and neighborhood parks, encompassing all portions of town and they include athletic fields, playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, picnic areas, and a skating rink.

The City has also received numerous parcels of land for future park development in the new subdivisions and will be looking for neighborhood inputs on what people would like to see in these in the near future.

There are also pedestrian and bike trails that run through the new developments and there are plans in the future to connect these with the orginal portions of town. Also available are snowmobile trails that connect to the countywide system.
