Vision

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. (John 15:12)

We are called to be a caring community of believers that:

Celebrates Christ as Savior...

Because Christ is the Head of the Church.  He has been enthroned with all authority and is the One to Whom all allegiance is due. We celebrate His Lordship with rich tradition and heart-felt worship that penetrates the soul. We celebrate Him through the ministry of the Word that is both powerful and practical. We strive to incorporate a variety of ministry venues that invites all ages and people groups into the celebration experience.

Affirms every believer...

Because Christ has a kingdom work for each of us to do.  We believe in the priesthood of the believers.  Every believer is a valuable part of the great commission.  Our goal is to help each person discover his/her spiritual gifts and equip them for ministry.

Restores the hurting....

Because Christ values ministry to those in need as if it were to Himself. Our purpose is to extend, to the best of our ability, compassion and care to those with physical, emotional and/or spiritual needs.

Evangelizes the world...

Because the heart of Christ is missions. Whether it is around the corner or around the world, God has called us to share the Good News.

History

In the winter of 1942, the Spirit of God moved upon a pastor in Mobile, Alabama to come to the Loxley area and preach the gospel to the residents of Central Baldwin. Reverend Carl Richards responded to God's call, came to Loxley and drove up and down the streets with his public address system, telling the plan of salvation. He found enough interest and with the help of other ministers held a tent revival which lasted eleven weeks. As a result of this great revival, Loxley Church of God was set in order in the home of Bo and Ethel Boone on February 28, 1943 by Brother Richards

These faithful servants of the Lord began to work and pray for God to use the church for His glory and praise. Now, sixty-plus years later, Loxley Church of God stands as a beacon of hope to Baldwin County, Alabama and the world. Our membership has grown from nine to several hundred. Our history is one of ordinary people with extraordinary vision and faith, fearing nothing but God and walking in obedience to His Word. From humble beginnings, God has raised up His church. As we look back at our history, we stand firm in the present and move with vision for the future. To God Be The Glory!
