The Recreation Department seeks to provide parks, recreational facilities and a full range of recreation programs and opportunities for Marine City residents of every age, on a year round basis. The programs provided include but are not limited to swimming, swimming lessons, water exercise, lifeguard training ,basketball, men's softball, weight training, golf lessons kiddy art, playgrounds, T-Ball, floor hockey and many special events.

The facilities at the disposal of the Recreation Department consist of approximately 26 acres spread among 11 sites. Nine facilities consist of eight(8) relatively small parks and the Guy Community Center. Included among these is the City Beach, the only public sandy beach along the St. Clair River between Port Huron and Algonac. Two(2) other parks, The King Road Park, and the Ward Cottrell Park are used for softball and tennis.

Besides the City owned parks, the East China school system provides recreational facilities for students, and on a limited basis to Marine City residents. Swimming, Basketball, Volleyball and arts and crafts are offered in cooperation with the schools.
