Marine Elementary School

725 West Division Street
618-667-5404

Mission:

The mission of our school is to develop in our students the knowledge, skills, respect, and responsibility necessary to conduct themselves as productive, responsible citizens of their locality, state, and nation.

About Us:

Marine Elementary School was built in 1955. From its beginning through 1999, it housed kindergarten through eighth graders. In the 1999 – 2000 school year, the Triad District moved all sixth, seventh, and eighth graders to the centralized Triad Middle School making Marine Elementary School a kindergarten through grade five building. Last year a pre-kindergarten program was added.
Our enrollment is approximately 170 students. The doors open each morning to the students at 8:35. At that time, a breakfast program is offered for those interested. Classes begin at 8:50 a.m. each day with dismissal for bus students at 3:00 p.m. Dismissal for town students is 3:05 p.m.

The school is a two-story building with six regular education classes, two special education classes, a pre-kindergarten, a library, gymnasium, cafeteria, and individual rooms for remedial reading, music, art, and speech.
Each teacher is highly trained in his/her area and will challenge all students to perform to the best of their ability. Besides the academic areas taught each day, we also stress the building of positive character education. Our goal is to develop well-rounded, successful students who will leave here and become positive members of our society
