Mason-Rice Elementary School

The core values that we hold for the Mason-RiceSchool and the vision we have for our school, community and children are tightly knit together, and drive the decisions we make about the education your children will receive here. Our core values require that our children: a) work hard, b) love learning, c) think creatively, d) are responsible, and e) respect themselves and others.

Our mission as parents and educators is to structure our delivery of curriculum to insure that these values are achieved by every child who attends school at Mason-Rice. Our vision for our children, beyond these core values, requires that they enter sixth grade as confident and competent problem-solvers, armed with strong skills from across the curriculum that will insure that they meet with success wherever they may travel.

It is our job to find the special talent that lies within each child, and to nurture and build that sense of excitement and wonder about learning that all children bring into kindergarten. We can succeed in bringing this vision to life if we deliver curriculum that is meaningful and relevant to the lives our children are leading, and we maintain a focus on what children can do and not on what they can't do.

If we create situations for our students that guarantee their success--so they can value the sense of achievement that only hard work can bring, and so they can recognize the value of working cooperatively with others--then we can promise that our children will, indeed, become life-long learners, and kind, generous, thoughtful members of our community.
