Founded in circa 1970, MYS has served tens of thousands of players and their families by providing organized, developmental and fun soccer experiences. Many of our former players now are MYS parents and volunteers.

From our modest beginnings, MYS has grown into McLean's largest volunteer organization and registers over 7,000 players per calendar year. Coaches for our more than 250 teams range from volunteer coaches to highly trained and experienced professional coaches. In all cases, licensing and learning is a requirement to insure that positive and appropriate soccer guidance is given to our players and parents.

Among our greatest challenges is the ever-increasing need for the quality and quantity of fields to enable safe, competitive play. Over the past several years, MYS has invested more than $1 million dollars in improving and maintaining playing fields around McLean. These fields host not only soccer matches, but are home to football and lacrosse teams as well. These fields also are widely used for informal recreation by numerous McLean residents.

In 2003, MYS opened two exceptional athletic fields, one that is a Bermuda grass surface, the other an all-weather synthetic called Field Turf. These fields have attracted attention from sports organizations around the region and allowed MYS to increase and enhance the level of training and play that it can offer its players and teams. We are appreciative to our members, sponsors and other patrons who continue to generously support our field development and other efforts to provide appropriate soccer opportunities for our members.
