Mission

The purpose of this church shall be to provide regular opportunities for public worship, to sustain the ordinances, doctrines, and ethics set forth in the New Testament for the church; to nurture its members through a program of Christian education, to channel its offerings to the support of the objects of the Redeemer's Kingdom and to preach and propagate among all people the gospel of the revelation of God through Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

History: Meansville Baptist Church was organized in 1888. Our present sanctuary was constructed in the 30’s, during the height of the depression, using largely donated materials and labor, but it was really built on faith and love. It is modeled after a small church in France. It took over 10 years to complete the building, during which time the congregation met in a tabernacle with a sawdust floor. It was the first brick church in Pike County. Through the years, our church has had its ups and downs but has continued to faithfully carry out the Lord’s work in our community.
