The Monroe County Historical Society is a nonprofit corporation, with perpetual duration, founded September 11, 1967. The purposes of the Society shall be of a nonprofit nature and shall be exclusively historical, scientific, educational and charitable. The leading purposes shall be to record, collect, receive, preserve, study, exhibit and share things pertaining to county history. Contributions to the society are tax deductible.
