Mont Vernon Congregational Church

4 South Main Street
603-673-3500

OUR CHURCH is a small Christ-centered Fellowship of about 60 active members serving the Town of Mont Vernon and surrounding areas. We hold a strong belief in the power of prayer, and provide a loving, caring atmosphere, ministering to each other, members of the community, and the world. Children are an especially important part of our church life. Our membership includes a mix of professionals, clerical workers, laborers, homemakers and retired people. We have a number of "Baby-boomers", but are also blessed with a growing number of young families, who are attracted by the strong Christian Education Program. Typical Sunday attendance ranges from 25 - 50, including children who participate in the early part of the worship service. We have about 15 children attending Sunday School. Special adult education programs are held during the Advent and Lenten seasons, with five to ten adults participating.

Four church committees manage operation of the church throughout the year. The Diaconate, consisting of five members, coordinates worship, mission, and fellowship functions. The six trustees take care of the building and grounds and financial concerns. Our strong Christian Education committee, with ten members, plans and executes our Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Programs. The Church Council includes the Chairs of the three committees as well as the four church officers and oversees the overall church mission. Each committee meets monthly. A special Messiah sing Committee meets October to January to plan and coordinate our annual Christmas Messiah Sing which draws singers and listeners from many neighboring towns.
