Mission Statement

With high expectations and differentiated instruction based on standards and best practices, the Montpelier School Community services students, parents, and teachers with accountability for all in the quest for life long success.

Our school houses grades kindergarten through 8th grade and now includes Head Start as a result of the CAPE Grant. The CAPE grant includes three related important components: emphasis on literacy in grades K-2 by placing three teachers in each room for extended periods of time, the addition of a Head Start classroom, and a Family Resource Center. Our goal is to ensure our students and families will achieve to their greatest potentialThe Montpelier School faculty and staff provides students with the opportunity to receive instruction that is focused on Indiana Standards, and grounded in the best current instructional practices. The role of the principal is to assist teachers in their daily teaching duties by planning, directing, and communicating, the activities of the school. By maintaining a quality learning environment, working with students, parents and teachers the principal’s function is vital to the success of the school.

Student success can only be guaranteed by studying the data, aligning curriculum, instruction, and assessment, and cooperation between the whole school community. Our school celebrates student and teacher success, and will continue to assist all students in their efforts to achieve academic excellence.
