Mission The purpose of the “Tennessee Valley Exposition” is the same as it has been for over fifty years. That purpose is to provide for the operation of the Fair and the orderly growth of the Fair – which includes educational opportunities for children, a family entertainment environment, and to provide funds for community projects from the proceeds of the Fair. The volunteers who serve as Directors of the Fair put in many hours of hard work toward the purposes of the corporation.

Company Overview The Morgan County Fair has been an annual event (62 years and going strong!) in Decatur, Alabama since the Jaycees started organizing it in 1949. The “Tennessee Valley Exposition,” a non-profit corporation, operates the Fair. The Fair was originally located on Highway 20. In 1963 that location became prime industrial property and the Fair was moved to its current location which was at the time on the outskirts of town. The City has since grown up all around the fairgrounds creating an ideal location for the Fair in the middle of Decatur. Today the “Tennessee Valley Exposition” (TVE) is made up of a group of volunteers who work year round to bring ten days of good wholesome family entertainment to Morgan County. Many civic groups have projects associated with the Fair and the proceeds from the Fair still go into various community projects. The Morgan County Fair is more than rides…we have something to offer for everyone. Individual and commercial exhibits are on display daily until 9pm each night. Individual exhibits include prize fruits and vegetables grown by area farmers, photography and crafts created by area artists and hobbyist, quilts, collections, and horticulture exhibits, and baked goods. The Fair takes in these exhibits on Saturday and Sunday before the fair begins on the following Thursday. If you have something to contribute, the TVE encourages you to bring your entries. After all it is YOUR fair! And what would a County Fair be without the livestock shows? You can see the Junior Feeder Steer Show, Junior Heifer Show, Lamb Show and Junior Market Goat Shows. The kids who raise and show these animals work very hard to make theirs the “best of breed”. If you have livestock you would like to enter in these categories, the TVE encourages you to participate.
