"The objective of this Society shall be the discovery, preservation and dissemination of knowledge about the history of Mount Prospect, Illinois, and to foster and promote a greater knowledge of the history of Elk Grove and Wheeling Townships and:

a. To bring together people interested in the history of Mount Prospect and the surrounding area.
b. To collect, interpret, preserve, and present information and objects concerning the history of Mount Prospect and surrounding area.
c. To operate historical museum(s).
d. To stimulate the exchange of thoughts and ideas relative to local history."
