Who We Are

A nonprofit dedicated to alleviating suffering of wounded veterans who have been discharged from active duty.

Mysterium Nectere, Inc., a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, created in 2008 to serve the needs of soldiers returning from war with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  We applied for a federal DoD grant that would have allowed us to do this work at no cost to veterans; however, although the grant proposal received many glowing comments by its reviewers, we were not awarded the funds.  (Too little money, so great a need.)  So, we will have to do it the old-fashioned way - we'll have to do it based on the love and compassion of those of you who care.

The problem is severe and the numbers affected continue to mount as the war continues on.  It touches every part of the soldier's lives, their family units, and ultimately, all of society.  To learn more about the problem, take a look at the following links:  

• The establishment has finally weighed in on the issue of Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder among our returning soldiers and Marines. RAND, not known for its risk-taking assessments by any measure, released a report today finding what everyone in veterans' advocacy has been talking about for years: that nearly 19 percent of returning vets have PTSD and nearly 20 percent have some form of TBI. Around seven percent qualify for both. What We Do to Help

Reach out to the communities and their returning soldiers, to educate, relieve suffering, and to do the work.

In 2009, we have launched the effort to raise donations to provide returning veterans with low-cost/no-cost access to yoga, breath work, and body work.  We have an extensive network of service providers who stand ready to offer our wounded veterans help: experts in EMDR, EFT, massage, energy healing, and spiritual counseling.  A new, integrated model -- one that includes not only traditional approaches, but embraces other modalities as well -- is necessary because the efforts of the "traditional only" model are failing to heal many of those who return home with their wounds.  The government recognizes this need, which is why limited funding has become available.
