History:

During the Wurstfest in 1964 a number of artists began to discuss the need for an art league in New Braunfels. A display was set up at the old Junior High Gym (Market Platz) and was so well received by local people and tourists, that on January 28, 1965 the Art League became a reality. Their main goal of promoting interest and knowledge of art as well as the establishment of a public art display lives on today.

The Art League eventually purchased and has spent several years restoring the handsome two-story building in which it is now located.

Art workshops, classes and painting groups are scheduled throughout the year, providing techniques and inspiration to artists whose experience ranges from beginner to master.

toward making New Braunfels a cultural arts center.
