Mission:

Since God’s purpose concerning man is to seek and to save that which is lost, to be worshipped by man, to build a body of believers in the image of His Son, and to demonstrate His love and compassion for all the world, the priority reason for being of the Assemblies of God as part of the Church is:

To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world.

To be a corporate body in which man may worship God.

To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son.

To be a people who demonstrate God’s love and compassion for all the world.

History:

New Hope Assembly of God church was started on November 30, 1958 by Rev. Evelyn L. Moores and Georgina D. Maxwell. The current location was purchased in March, 1963, and the church building was dedicated into full service on May 22, 1965 by Rev. George E.Flower. It has been established as a place for all who would seek the Lord Jesus Christ and fellowship with His saints.

For almost fifty years, New Hope Assembly of God has offered the message of hope, healing and restoration that can be found in Jesus Christ. Many people, from many backgrounds have called New Hope Assembly their home church. Many describe New Hope as a place of peace and where the presence of God abides.

Today, Wayne Shirk is the senior pastor at New Hope. Originally from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Pastor Wayne has been in ministry in New England for more than 30 years. Our mission is to see lives healed, restored, empowered, equipped and sent out to be all that God has for them to be.

In 2001, continued growth brought us two Sunday morning services. Bible studies, prayer services and programs are conducted throughout the week for adults, Youth and children.

In June 2005 we celebrated 40 years as a church. During the celebration the church took on a new name New Hope Assembly. This name reflects our vision and mission to bring new hope to the world. Romans 15:13. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
