Norridgewock Historical Society Museum was built in 1838 as a Female Academy to educate daughters of prominent citizens. The school was closed during the Civil War and in 1865 reopened as the co-ed Eaton School. Around the turn of the century, the brick building was converted to a private dwelling and remained that way until 1995 at which time it was made available to the Norridgewock Historical Society.The museum has a Victorian parlor, turn of the century kitchen, music room/library, school room, exhibit rooms with works oflocal artists and phototgraphers, indian works and displays, antique clothing, and other artifacts and archival materials.
