The Oak Island Beach Preservation Society is a group of volunteers dedicated and determined to help preserve the beaches on Oak Island. We promote the restoration, maintenance and enjoyment of our public beaches by

  • Educating the public about protecting our beaches and dunes
  • Sponsoring public beach accesses through Adopt-A-Beach Program
  • Building bike racks and doggie-bag boxes for beach accesses
  • Developing materials for public education about care of the beach
  • Distributing periodic newsletters to members, legislators and the public
  • Coordinating volunteers who assist with sea oats seed harvesting and planting, in cooperation with the Greenhouse
  • Maintaining liaison with Brunswick Beaches Consortium, the NC Shore and Beach Association and other active beach preservation groups
  • Contributing funds to help renourish Oak Island’s beaches!

We also support the efforts of the Junior Beach Club and other town government committees through informed input and participation. We are a standing committee of the Town of Oak Island.
