OtterBee's Farm and Fungi
OtterBee's Farm & Fungi, owned and operated by Rich & Kathleen Dickson, allows us to combine our two main passions in life - farming in the Spring and Summer, and harvesting wild mushrooms in the Fall and Winter!
Fortunately, we live in Brookings-Harbor, Oregon - known locally as the "banana belt" of coastal Oregon - and the temperate climate here in our region makes both farming and wild-harvesting possible. We rarely have snow in the winter, we rarely get above 70 degrees in the summer, and we get an average of 80 inches of rain (mostly in the winter), so everything grows well here - plants and mushrooms!
Our Local Harvest listing began in 2005 as Oregon Wild Mushrooms, when we offered our wild-harvested mushrooms to Local Harvest customers.
Our Summer CSA spans 20 weeks (June through mid-October), while our Winter CSA is an 8-week program in November and December.
Depending on which CSA one chooses, members will receive 6-10 different fruits and vegies every week, including cool-season crops from our farm and other local farms and, in the summer, warm-season crops (mainly stone fruits) from our partner farms in the Rogue Valley of Oregon. Our Winter CSA also offers one the option of adding wild mushrooms to their share box!

Members pick up their shares every Wednesday between 10 am & 2 pm at the Farmer's Market in Brookings (the market is held at the Chetco Grange Community Center, located at the corner of Highway 101 and Shopping Center Avenue); late pickup is also available; please call or email for details.
