Our Community Farm Project

121 Sams Street
404-590-7249

ABOUT THE FARM: Located at 121 Sams Street in Decatur (across from the Avondale MARTA station on College Avenue), this start-up urban farm project is a partnership with Susan Pavlin, Refugee Family Services, and farmers from Burundi who have come to metro-Atlanta as refugees.

With leadership from experienced Burundi farmers, a group of Burundi women are joining together to grow food, exchange farming knowledge, and develop a greater understanding of farming practice in the Atlanta area. Practical farm experience, combined with workshops and field trips to local farmers markets, will create new opportunities in production, distribution and marketing. The farm will also provide families, which are often facing food security risks, with healthy food for their tables.
