Our Saviour's United Methodist Church

701 East Schaumburg Road

Our Saviour's United Methodist Church, a thriving, growing Christian congregation, was founded in 1957 by 85 faithful individuals. Today OSUMC continues to spiritually serve a congregation of over 750 members and to extend a helping hand to the entire northwest suburban area.

Our Saviour’s United Methodist Church, affectionately known as OSUMC, began as a small group, a house church. In November of 1957, a dozen of us gathered together in Hoffman Estates to see if there were interest in establishing a Methodist Church in the area. We found more than enough interest so we called for an Organizational Meeting on March 16, 1958. Eighty-five persons showed up and became charter members. Having no building or land of our own, we began to meet for worship and study in schools and public buildings. We were a young congregation almost all in our 30's.

We have helped refurbish homes for poor people, built outhouses, repaired roofs, painted churches, poured concrete walkways for a camp, put up drywall, installed doors, built porches and had a great time doing it. The youth earn money for their mission project by selling parking places for the annual community festival called Septemberfest. For more information on youth activities please click on the youth button. Now junior high students have their own mission projects as do our adults. We trust that just as God has guided us in the past, so God will guide us into the future. So we go forward with joy and confidence.
