Pine Hill Middle School is a comprehensive middle school designed to meet the needs of a diverse student body, educating students in grades five through eight. Students benefit from our emphasis on a strong academic curriculum, which includes language literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, health, art, music and technology. Pre-algebra is offered in the seventh grade and algebra is offered in eighth grade to students who excel in mathematics. In addition, laboratory based science instruction and computer instruction take place at our middle school. Our programs are designed to ease the transition from the elementary school into the middle school and from eighth grade into high school.

Our teachers are student-centered, caring instructors who make the school a welcoming environment where students thrive. Staff sets high expectations for students and dynamic lessons are in place to enable students to achieve their learning potential.

A school site council is in place so that all stakeholder groups have a voice in the decision-making process. It is an open and inclusive council designed to implement a school improvement process based on the premise that all stakeholders are co-equal partners in school leadership.

Positive, proactive programs such as Peer Mediation and Renaissance are in effect at our school. Peer Mediation emphasizes “Getting Along Together Everyday” and encourages students to find peaceful resolutions to conflicts before they escalate. Our Renaissance Program recognizes students and staff for excellence and an outstanding effort. Students who meet the specified criteria are awarded cards that qualify them for certain incentives.

The Board of Education and staff work in conjunction with parents and community members to create a safe and nurturing environment where students can learn and excel.
