Pleasant Hill Elementary is a Public Elementary school within the Mount Diablo Unified School District. Serving grades K-5 with a tradition of excellence, PHE strives to provide the best education in the best environment possible.

The first Pleasant Hill School was started in 1866 in a large room in a house near the Reliez hill. Approximately 30 children between the ages of 5 and 15 attended the one-room schoolhouse during a two-month session. The children did not attend much due to difficult travel through tall grasses, coyotes, snakes, and poison oak along the way. The school stood for 94 years before it was torn down in 1960.
