Rotary in Alhambra Today

The Alhambra Club, one of the oldest service clubs in the city, boasts 70 active members who, through the Avenues of Service, are committed to improving the quality of life for those business and professional persons who live and work in the community. Weekly meetings encourage the development of acquaintances as an opportunity for service.

What Are Membership Requirements?

Membership is proposed by a Rotarian who is acquainted with the prospective member. It is limited to men and women over that age of 21. A proposed member must live or work in Alhambra or a city with contiguous boundaries. The applicant must be in a management or professional position or retired from one. His/her classification (type of work) must be unfilled, and he/she must be approved for membership by the Club.

How Is Classification Determined?

The classification accurately describes the member's principal occupational activity, or past service in their vocation.

Is Attendance Important?

Yes. Members are expected to attend the weekly luncheons. Regular attendance is conductive to active participation and involvement by all members to successfully complete the Club's projects.

What Is The Cost?

The one-time initiation fee of $75 provides for initial membership, a Rotary Pin, Membership Plaque and Rotary Information. Current annual dues are $400 and include Club, District and International dues. Lunches are extra.

Additionally, community service contributions are made at the discretion of the member. These funds support local community service projects.

Where Do My Spouse and Family Fit In?

Spouses of members are encouraged to participate in all club social and fund-raising events. They are welcome at weekly meetings, at the District Conference and at the annual International Convention.
