Our Mission

The mission of St. Lawrence School is to support in educating the whole child to live a life of service and strive for academic excellence. We proclaim and witness Catholic Values that bring unity to our divers community. We are committed to approaching education through Jesus Christ as we help parents create a solid educational foundation upon which our students build their future.

Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy at St. Lawrence originates in our strong sense of community and is rooted in our belief that each child is a unique creation of God, redeemed by Jesus Christ, and enlightened by the Holy Spirit. With this in mind, we invite our children and parents to strengthen their relationships with God as Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier.

About Us

Our commitment to excellence is evident in our dedication to ongoing growth and improvement, and in the opportunities we provide for our students. The values of peace and social justice permeate all aspects of our school life and form the central foundation of our community service projects. This enables our students to work not only toward their own well-being and prosperity, but the well-being and prosperity of their family, school, church and community.St. Lawrence School opened with four grades in September, 1959 under the direction of the Palotine Sisters from Harrison, New York. From 1958-1968, St. Lawrence grew from four to eight classrooms. Despite this growth the palottine community withdrew their sisters in 1968. This led to the closing of the school in June of the very same year.

Father Vincent O'Reilly reopened the school in September, 1978, with two lay teachers, teaching kindergarten and first grade. Each year there after, another grade was added until there were nine grades. In 1978, kindergarten expanded from a half day to a three quarter day for both morning and afternoon groups.

Since being built, it seems the Parish Center has undergone a continuous renovation. In 1992, three new rest rooms were added to the two story structure. In the remodeling of the building office space and staff were moved to various locations. Today, it is used by various staff and organizations within the Parish and School to hold meetings and do business.

After the dedication of the new church in November of 1983, the former church became the Parish Hall. Currently, the building know as St. Lawrence Hall is used for a variety of School and Church functions. This Hall houses everything from basketball games, to science fairs, to serving those in need at the bounty program.

School has grown and flourished over the years, recently remodeling a wing of class rooms, the library and putting in a gorgeous new courtyard with benches.
