To Be a Thriving, loving, and Christ-Centered Parish
Our History
St. Paul's is the third oldest Episcopal Church in Suffolk County. The original building was on West Main Street and built in 1843 and doubled as a courthouse. We were incorporated that year, and our first rector was V.M. Daniel Johnson. The Parish was admitted to the diocese in 1868. The church relocated to 31 Rider Avenue in 1883, on property donated by Ed Edwards who was Senior Warden in memory of his wife Rebecca. In 1895, the parish halland rectory were built also by Mr. Edwards as a memorial to his son Edward. In 1961, under Rev. Richard Chapin, an education wing was added and our parish school was established which served the community for twenty-three years. The Community I.N.N. was opened in 1985 and continues serving hot meals to the needy of Patchogue. St. Paul's was listed on the Register of Historic Places in 1995 and the National Register.
