Saint Peter's Episcopal Church Of Cazenovia

10 Mill Street
315-655-9063

Mission Statement:
To grow in God's image, and to spread Christ's kingdom, through the power of the Holy Spirit (Vestry minutes, 16 Mar. 1993). An Outline of the Faith (commonly called The Catechism) in the Book of Common Prayer opens with a reflection on Human Nature. The church asks - "What does it mean to be created in the image of God?" The response is a powerful affirmation of human freedom of will and of choice. "It means that we are free to make choices: to love, to create, to reason, and to live in harmony with creation and with God."

Being a Christian is more than just the astonishing freedom of being restored ("to grow") in God's image. Being a Christian also implies ourselves, our souls and bodies becoming holy to witness ("to spread") Christ's kingdom to others. For this to happen effectively we need the guidance and comfort of the Holy Spirit.
