SHARE! Northeast

The SHARE! Northeast Region high school exchange program bridges cultures by placing international students with host families throughout the Northeast United States (New England and Mid-Atlantic). Students from nearly 25 countries stay with host families for either a full, 10‐month academic year or for a five-month semester. They attend American high school, experience American culture, and visit well-known—and even lesser-known!—American attractions.

Our program develops respect, tolerance, and understanding among Americans and people from around the world, enabling students and host families to expand their worldview. One of our goals is to help create lifelong friendships and memories.

We offer two excellent volunteer opportunities:

* Be a Host Family. Shake up your routine and change someone’s world by opening your home to an exchange student. Becoming a host family is a unique volunteer experience that will energize your family and create meaningful relationships that you will treasure for a lifetime.

* Be an Exchange Program Coordinator (EPC). The SHARE! Northeast program relies on matches between interested high school students and host families. EPCs help find warm, enthusiastic families ready to welcome students into their homes.
