Sinaloa Middle School has an operational philosophy (mission)that is essential if a school is to make its values realized and make progress toward program improvement. The following statements reflect the beliefs of the Sinaloa Middle School staff and community. All decisions made at our school will reflect the beliefs about how students learn and how we, as facilitators of that learning, will interact with our students, each other, and the community.

In implementing the district's mission statement, the staff and community at Sinaloa Middle School believe that our school is a supportive community where students are challenged to acquire the knowledge and skills to live as responsible individuals in a diverse world of change. All decisions made at our school will reflect the beliefs about how students leam and how we, as facilitators of that learning, will interact with our students, each other, and the community.

We believe that Our curriculum centers on students, makes connections of content to the lives of students, and is comprehensive and balanced. Our instruction assesses students' needs, develops healthy individuals in all areas, reflects the research on learning, seeks consistency of expectations, and utilizes a variety of instructional approaches. Our students are intrinsically motivated to perform and achieve, challenge themselves individually, commit themselves to become life-long learners, accept responsibility for their own actions and are informed and involved citizens. Our environment enables students to succeed, facilitates effective collaboration, cooperation, and communication, supports students, staff, and parents, and encourages shared decision-making. Our staff works toward a common purpose, respects individuality in teaching styles, demonstrates flexibility, models life-long learning, and values collegiality.
