Do you feel you were treated differently while trying to rent or buy a place to live? The fair housing law gives you the right to choose where you want live and prohibits discrimination based on these seven protected classes
race, color, religion, sex, national origin,
familial status (families with children under the age of 18 yrs) disability (physical or mental)

The laws prohibit housing providers such as landlords, sellers, lenders, and insurance agents from discriminating against anyone who has any one of the protected classes in the purchasing, rental, financing, or insuring of  housing.
