Mission

The Sterling Arts Council (SAC) will serve its diverse audiences by promoting, presenting, and developing the arts in northeast Colorado.
History

In 1966, The Arts Council was chartered as the "coordinating committee for the arts and humanities" and officially became known as the Sterling Arts Council in 1967. Incorporated in 1972, SAC received tax exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service in 1975. In 1988, the Council hired its first professional staff member.

Currently, the Sterling Arts Council operates as a nine member, all volunteer board and oversees four standing committees: Children's Arts, Visual Arts, July Jam'z, and Celtic Festival. Each committee is comprised of board members as well as citizens from the community.
