Still Waters Community United Methodist Church

3617 Scenic Road
262-677-1311

Mission:

Our mission is to Find the Lost, Release the Captive and Develop Disciples of Jesus.

History:

In 1996, the United Methodist Conference wanted to bring a refreshing new church to the growing Jackson community. This church would create opportunities for adults and children to experience personally the meaning and fulfillment Christ brings and equip them to share that with others. Thus, in September of 1996, Still Waters was born with Rev. Dan Schwerin as pastor. Our first worship services were held at Jackson Elementary and our average attendance was 40 people. A parsonage was purchased, as well as land for a future church building. In 1997, our attendance grew to 80 souls and we added our first staff member, Donna Schoeckert. By 1999, we averaged 130 members and purchased 10 acres of land from the Slinger School Board. We broke ground on April 30th, 2000 and held our first worship service in the new building on Christmas Eve. In 2002, Rev. Dan Schwerin went on to become District Superintendent and Rev. Matthew Hadley was appointed as our new pastor. Over the next few years we have added an Associate Pastor, a Youth & Family Director, a parish nurse, financial assistant, Sunday School Coordinator as well as nursery staff, musicians, many new groups and members. In 2005, we added an education wing and a church administrator to serve our more than 300 members.  We now have over 500 members and average around 400 for worship on a weekend.
