Stoney Hedgerow Farm CSA
Wide range of vegetables offered, with "salad fixings" a constant each week. The season begins with fresh greens, with heavier crops (tomatoes, green beans, summer squash, etc.) included by early summer. Late season items include storage crops such as onions, potatoes, & sweet potatoes. Great garlic! Seasons average 23-25 weeks long, May through the end of October. Shareholders are asked to participate with a modest labor contribution during the season, with significant flexibility as to how this is done. New for 2011: Strawberries are intended to be added this season. A new season-extending hoop tunnel will also be added, along with drip irrigation to enhance production volume and quality. Weekly deliveries to Oxford, Ohio will also be offered.
Stoney Hedgerow Farm CSA - "A family farm, growing for your family." Farm features a wide assortment of vegetables throughout the growing season, extended with the aid of high tunnels. No "certifications," but all crops are grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, using only cover crops, composts, and natural fertilizers in a manner consistent with organic practices. Shares are available for the entire season, with prorated shares offered for those who sign up later in the season, based on availability. Husband and wife management team Craig & Sharon Harkrider have extensive experience in sustainable/organic agriculture practices, along with each having degrees in agriculture & education.
